We are looking for a new member of the digital communications team to play a key role in our digital transformation programme.

This programme is an exciting foundational piece of work enabling us to achieve our strategic objectives. As we create and lead a community of outstanding experts and innovators to engineer better lives, our website is a key external communications channel essential to more than communicating our impact. It plays a key role in enabling us to reach new and existing audiences, strengthen our communities and their impact, and broaden perceptions of engineers and engineering.

In this post, you will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of the next phase of the Academy website redevelopment. Your expertise in website management, plus your project management skills, will see you liaising between internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring project plans are agreed and kept on track, and escalating risks as needed.

As a website manager with a user-first approach, your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the Academy website develops to prioritise users and offer seamless journeys through the site and our integrations. You'll feed in to work on audience mapping and a site restructure, again bringing your top-notch web skills and experience to this project. As we build up a backlog, you'll liaise with colleagues and developers on sprints for new functionality, shaping what's needed based on data and insights. Your approach will be data-led, and you'll draw on user testing and feedback as well as GA4 and SEO tracking tools to inform decisions.

A strong communicator, you'll liaise with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels to keep work on track. This is a brilliant role for a web manager with great project management skills to make their own.

Please note this is a fixed term role for up to 18 months.

Application closing date: 01 September 2026

The Academy is committed to making reasonable adjustments to remove barriers that hinder applicants from applying or staff from working effectively and comfortably.

The Royal Academy of Engineering is proud to be an ‘A’ Rated Skilled Worker Sponsor Licence holder, as approved by the UK Immigration Authorities.

The Academy may consider sponsorship for roles that are eligible, as defined by the Home Office. In accordance with Home Office criteria, sponsorship may only be considered where there is a suitable Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) code, the minimum salary threshold is met, and all other relevant Points Based System requirements for Skilled Worker sponsorship are fulfilled. Please note that this does not guarantee that the Academy will be able to sponsor a candidate as a Skilled Worker and accordingly may not be able to make an offer.

A Certificate of Sponsorship may be assigned, and a Skilled Worker visa application will only be made once an applicant has been successfully and conditionally offered a role. All offers of employment requiring sponsorship under the Academy’s Sponsor Licence are subject to the individual obtaining the legal right to work in the United Kingdom for the Academy in the specific role.

Employment will not be confirmed until the Skilled Worker visa application has been formally approved and communicated by the Home Office. Additionally, a potential offer of employment may be made to candidates who already hold a visa permitting work for the Academy in a specific role. As with Skilled Worker sponsorship, such employment may be time-limited depending on the nature of the visa.
